Taking Great Close-up Images Using Natural Light
Paul Peterson has once again agreed to give this always popular workshop, in which he shares his techniques of taking striking close-up (macro) images of flowers. He has developed his own style shooting mostly indoors, using diffused natural light. This enables shooting year round in comfort without regard to weather, wind, and harsh lighting. Paul will begin by explaining his techniques for lighting, , use of backgrounds and other techniques he has perfected over the years.
This will be a hands-on workshop, so please bring your camera, a tripod and a macro lens if you have one. If you don’t have a macro lens, just bring what you have. Most of the flowers are large enough that they don’t really require a macro lens. Paul will have flower setups at a number of stations in his home, so everyone will have ample opportunity to try their hand using his techniques. If you’d like, you may bring a bloom or two. No live creepy crawlies, please!
The workshop will be held on Saturday, May 3rd in the morning.
There will be a sign-up sheet at meetings, or you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I will send out an email with directions to Paul’s home about a week before the workshop to all who have signed up.
Please note that workshops are FREE, but you do need to be a current member to attend workshops.
