The world is made up of beautiful and majestic landscapes. A landscape is an expanse of scenery that the eye can see and that can be captured into an image to tell the story of its beauty.
Frank will share his secret sauce and many of his images from his travels. He will also share what he looks for to capture an image when he is in these locations.
So what does it take to make a successful image? Sometimes this means getting to the location early pre-sunrise or late evening shoots to capture nature in all her splendor. Sunrises and sunsets are so magical and enhance the photographic opportunity.
Once he finds the best location / site, he needs to
identify the right composition, i.e. finding foreground elements, checking
light direction, determining main subjects, etc. The next thing is deciding on
what tools to use. ND. Filters, tripods, remote shutter
release, polarizing filters, lenses and of course, what camera.
Using his tools to create, the vision, is one of his last steps when in the field. Frank is fortunate to use a system that includes many computational features that help him with this process. Frank will share many of these features, and how he incorporates them into his planning.
Frank T. Smith, a
self-taught photographer with a lifelong passion for the art, discovered his
love for photography at an early age. Specializing in outdoor and architectural
photography, Frank has traveled on global journeys to capture the essence of remote
locations, documenting both the people and their cultures, often supporting
philanthropic causes.
