Photoshop – Beginner/Intermediate

Date:  January 16, 2025 @ 7:00 PM

 ZOOM ONLY

Hazel Meredith is an award-winning photographer and a sought-after teacher, speaker, and competition judge. She began teaching in 2007, and now does seminars at camera clubs and conferences across the U.S. – both in-person and virtual. She offers her own workshops and webinars, and has done webinars for several software companies.

·        Hazel has kindly agreed to let us record this seminar.  It will be available on the website for 2 months.

This class will review the basic functions of the program and help you get your images looking their best. These techniques will apply to all versions of Photoshop (and PS Elements too).

We will review the workflow of an image, beginning with Layers, why they are important and what they do. Then we will cover basic editing techniques – utilizing layers for non-destructive editing. We will be adjusting color and lighting; fixing "problem" areas; converting an image to black and white or sepia monotone; using selections tools; and more.

You will learn about layer masks and how they make your workflow easier. I will demonstrate projects that use shapes, type, filters, and textures to jazz up your images.

By Hazel Meredith, APSA, HonNEC

Hazel has kindly agreed to let us record this seminar.  It will be available on the website for 2 months.

This class is for the intermediate to advanced Photoshop users. I will demonstrate using multiple layers to apply various effects and filters to your images, and discuss layer blending modes, layer styles, filters, gradients, textures, actions and presets, and also review some plug-in programs such as the Nik Suite, Luminar Neo and others.

I will also show you how to create your own watermark and turn your signature (or any object) into a custom brush.

And, we will wrap things up with learning about some of the new

Generative AI features and how you can use them to speed up some

 processes in Photoshop.
