FIELD TRIP: Southford and Kent Falls and the Town of Kent April 6th, 2024

 NEW HAVEN CAMERA CLUB TRIP

          SATURDAY APRIL 6th, 2024
 
1.)  Meet 9:30 am
            SOUTHFORD FALLS
            175 Quaker Farms Road
            Southford Ct.

 The falls are right near the parking lot, so there is no need to hike in. There are paths along both sides of the falls.





            2.) KENT FALLS to follow.
            462 Kent Cornwall Road
            Kent, Ct.
Access to the falls are from the parking lot through a small covered bridge, or you can walk through the spacious lawn on the opposite side. There is a somewhat steep path with some steps to the right of the multi tiered fall for those seeking some excercise. 

 

          3.)  Explore the quaint town of KENT.

            Lunch at Fife and Drum restaurant.
            53 Main Street, Kent Ct.
There are wall murals and bronze statues in town. Also of interest is a museum and nature preserve.

 

          4.) REPEAT both falls on the way back, if desired, for different lighting options.

            We are hoping for a nice day at the falls with a good group of members. It will be great to be together again after the gloomy winter that we had. There has been a tremendous amount of rain this winter, so the falls should be full.
