LET’S SUPPORT CHILD FIRST AGAIN
For the past
several years New Haven CC has made donations of toys or money to a well-known
program in Bridgeport called Child First. This program helps struggling families build
nurturing relationships that heal and protect young children from the
devastating impact trauma and chronic stress. Services are home-based and provided by trained mental health
clinicians.
In the past
our camera club members have donated toys which were brought to our holiday
banquet. When Covid came along, the
gifts became monetary contributions. Now
we can return to giving actual toys if you would like. Since Child First services families with
children from prenatal to 5 years, here are some suggestions:
Cars,
trucks, puzzles, dolls, Connect Four game, Candy Land game, large Lego/duplos,
dinosaurs, pop up toys or anything that looks like it would be fun for a young
child to play with!
