NEW HAVEN CAMERA CLUB FIELD TRIP

12:30-2:40 P.M.
We hope you can join us as
we hop on board the Julia Leigh, a catamaran tour ship for a sail around
Narragansett Bay and Newport R.I. harbor. The 30 miles trip includes going by
10 majestic lighthouses. It is a 95 minute tour aboard a secure ship that holds
approximately 250 passengers with three tiers for sitting and viewing.
The tour departs from
Quonset Point, North Kingston, R.I.. You should arrive no later than 30 minutes(12:30)
before the ship sails at 1. Reservations are recommended and will be
held only till 15 minutes before departure. Standbys will be allowed on at that
time. Arriving early is important to stake out where you want to stand/sit for photographing
the lighthouses and onshore locations. If you look at the photo of the boat,
you’ll see there is ample space indoors and outdoors on the vessel. The ticket
office suggested making a reservation by the 8th or 9th.
If boat does not sail, you will be refunded the cost.
There is always the chance
the boat my be sold out. It has happened a couple of times, however this late
in the season, that PROBABLY won’t happen. The cost is $35 for adults
(seniors $33). Tickets purchased same day will be $5 more for both adults
and seniors. There is a snack bar onboard however you are allowed to bring food
and drink (non-alcoholic) if you want to have lunch on board.

*The Julia Leigh is the same vessel as the Martha’s Vineyard ferry.
