June Photo Challenge

Please join in the fun for our June photo challenge. The subject is FLAGS of all sorts.

When we think of flags in June we, of course, think of our own beautiful American flag on June 14th, Flag Day.

That is the day when presidents Wilson, in 1916, and Coolidge, in 1927, issued proclamations asking for June 14th to be observed as the National Flag Day. But it wasn’t until August 3rd, 1949 that congress approved the national observance, and President Harry S. Truman signed it into law. (See…. even back then it took a long time to get something passed through congress😂)

But, in this case we are asking you to think outside the box and search for unusual flags. OR, all four entries can be American flags if you wish. The choice is yours.  Flags come in all sizes, shapes, colors, materials, and subjects. Here are some samples of unusual flags/flag groupings.

Please send up to 4 images to Colleen Reilly (colleen@halleycomm.net) by the deadline June 30th. Please follow this format example for naming your images: bbyer_01, bbyer_02 etc. They should be sized using the usual NHCC 1400 width x 1050 height.

Enjoy your search!
