The Untermyer Gardens is an unique park and gardens on 43 acres situated above the Hudson River in Yonkers NY. The property was purchased in 1862 and eventually was developed by Samuel Untermyer, a wealthy and successful lawyer. He eventually gave a portion of the property to the City of Yonkers but it fell into disrepair. Since 2011 the Conservancy was founded and is working to restore its lost splendor.
There are many opportunities for photos here including the Walled Garden, Temple of Love, and the Vista which is a breathtaking staircase leading down to the Hudson River.
So bring your best camera and enjoy this spectacular and unusual park. There is parking for 75 cars in a lot and also street parking. Bathrooms are available on site.
