Guilford Town Green and Surrounding Historical Districts
New
Haven Camera Club’s Photo Challenge for May
is
a trip to the Guilford Town Green
The large, almost
12-acre rectangle in the center of town has several war memorials, including one
from the Civil War. Framing the green are three unique churches, as well as a
number of historic homes and businesses – perfect opportunity for architectural,
landscape, street photography, and closeup photographs.
In fact, Guilford
Historic Heritage (www.visitguilfordct.com)
states there are 450-plus historical homes from the 17th century to
the 19th century, including two Historical Districts with 22
buildings downtown!
Parallel parking is
permitted around the green’s perimeter except on Park Street.
You can also use the parking lot at the Guilford Public Library located across
from the Green.
Remember – please send
up to 4 images to Colleen Reilly (www.colleen@halleycomm.net)
by the deadline of May 31st. Please follow this format
example for naming your images:
bbyer_01, bbyer_02, etc. They should be sized using the usual NHCC 1400
width x 1050 height.
The slide show will
premiere on the NHCC Facebook page in early June.
So- Let’s get going to the Guilford Town Green. What will you capture? Hmm.
