‘KNOW BEFORE YOU GO’ WORKSHOP
MONDAY, JANUARY 14, 2019
3-5PM
Paul Nguyen
One of the weather apps on my iPhone uses the slogan: “Know before you go” and it occured to me that it would be the perfect title for this workshop. In this workshop you will receive hands on demonstrations on how to pre-determine the exact locations for shooting different lighting situations. In the past, the only way for photographers to prepare for a sunrise or sunset shot was to scout locations in advance. Now we have tools such as Sun Surveyor and Starwalk which can save you time by enabling you to ‘virtually scout’ a shooting location for any time of day or night. Sun Surveyor predicts the path of the sun and moon for dawn and dusk shots, while StarWalk shows you where and when constellations and the Milky Way will enter the scene for your night shoots.
The first hour of this hands on workshop will be spend learning and practicing the apps in a real world setting. The second hour will be spent actually shooting with the help of the apps, under the guidance of the instructor. It would be helpful to download the two apps to your phone prior to the workshop. The apps are compatible on iPhones and Android.
To sign up for the workshop, please email me at beadnik2@gmail.com. Workshops are free but you must be a current member to attend.
