Located in Alaska’s Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, Silver Salmon Creek offers exceptional opportunities to photograph coastal brown bears in their natural environment. David’s program “The Magic of Silver Salmon Creek” will include a selection of his favorite photos and a discussion on the techniques he used to capture them. Some of the topics covered will be equipment, light, composition, and moment. David will also share tips on planning your own visit to this magnificent wilderness area.
David DesRochers Bio
David DesRochers began his journey as a nature photographer on a trip to Glacier National Park in the summer of 2000. Since then, he and his wife Cathy have traveled the world to witness and photograph the wonders of our natural world. David is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association and is a Field Contributor for Nature Photographer Magazine. He is an accomplished public speaker and instructor and has appeared at events such as the New England Camera Club Council Annual Conference, Connecticut Association of Photographers Annual Seminar, and the New Jersey Audubon's Birding Festival. He is the 2014 recipient of the New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs Citation, the highest individual honor bestowed by the Federation. His photographs have appeared in books and magazines and have won several awards in local, regional and national competitions.
