NHCC Field Trip

TIME: 10 am – 12 pm [morning session] Lunch 12:30 pm – 1:45 pm 2 pm – 4 pm [optional afternoon session]
ADMISSION: Recommended $5 pp donation This is an all-volunteer organization. They are very accommodating there and a nice bunch of guys who love to talk about what they do, so it should be a very good day, and well worth the money.
TO BRING: Tripod, Flash/Light if desired for indoor shooting
MEET UP: 10 am at small, welcome hut at end of long entrance road [between railroad tracks and Industrial Hall]
CAMA - The Connecticut Antique Machinery Association
Address: CAMA is a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit museum dedicated to the preservation, restoration and operation of antique machinery from America's rich industrial past. Their mission is to educate the general public about the impact, use and operation of antique machinery that proliferated as the Industrial Revolution took hold in the mid-1800s.
• There are 10 areas of focus: industrial steam, large internal combustion engines, small internal combustion engines, agricultural/farm machinery and implements, Cream Hill Agricultural School, CT Museum of Mining and Mineral Science, narrow gauge railroad, construction equipment, sawmill, and blacksmith shop.
• The Connecticut Antique Machinery Association is located in Kent, CT on U.S. Rt. 7, less than a mile north of the center of town. Kent is located in the scenic Litchfield Hills in the Northwest portion of the state. As you head north on Rt. 7 out of town, CAMA is on the left or west side of the road.
• CAMA is located directly adjacent and to the north of the Sloane-Stanley Museum near historic Kent Furnace. They share a common driveway.
• Admission fee is by donation during normal hours of operation. CAMA is a 100% all-volunteer organization and a small admission donation helps to offset the considerable cost of maintaining and powering the museum.
