January Competition Postponed Again
Whitney Center has informed us that due to the impending
snowstorm on Monday, all activities have been cancelled. This means that our
January 26 competition will have to be postponed again.
The new plan is to have
that competition on February 9 (weather permitting). Denise already has your
electronic images, so there is nothing more for you to do. Since we are already
scheduled for February 9, the meeting will be held in our regular meeting room.
To minimize confusion, the February 9 competition will be
moved to later in the year, probably April or May. You will be informed of the
new competition date as soon as we clear the new date with the Whitney Center.
The assigned subject "Teeth" will be moved to later in the year as
well.
If you have already
entered images for the February 9 competition, you may need to submit them
again once we have a firm date for the makeup. You will be contacted if you are
affected. If you were planning to submit images for February 9, please DO NOT
submit them at this time.
The February 23 competition will not be affected by any of
this. As long as the weather holds, it will be held as scheduled. The assigned
subject for February 23 is "Ice" which seems to be appropriate under
the circumstances.
By the way, February 2 is Groundhog's Day. According to
lore, if the groundhog doesn't see his shadow (and he shouldn't in the midst of
a snowstorm), then it means an early spring. Let's hope that is the
case.
