Infrared Photography Workshop

Infrared Photography Workshop
Wed. May 13th at 7PM
North Haven, CT

Do you want to make photographs that can be described by words like wowethereal, surreal, dreamlike, and different? Have you seen infrared photographs and wondered how you can take similar images yourself? Are you curious how a camera can take pictures using radiation that you can’t see?

The workshop is divided into three parts:
  1. First, an introduction concerned principally with the Why? and What? of infrared photography will be presented. A short introduction to infrared radiation (which is invisible to humans) and how it interacts with the natural world will be included.
  2. Second, the equipment needed (cameras and filters) will be described in detail. Possible problems and how to avoid or minimize them will also be covered.
  3. Third, editing the photographs including the steps required to optimize infrared images will be described. Both Lightroom and Photoshop are used, though other programs should produce similar results. A few creative techniques using infrared images will also be included.
The workshop will end with a short showcase of infrared images photographed by Bill Barnett, and a brief question and answer session.

The workshop will be available to the first eight people who sign up. To sign up, please email Joan at beadnik2@gmail.com.

Our workshops are always free but you must be a current member to attend.
