Sign Up for NHCC Field Trip to Stillmeadow Alpaca Farm – Thursday, May 23

Come along with us to visit a fairy tale farm to capture images of the cutest animals, beautiful architecture and  landscaping at Stillmeadow Alpaca Farm.

The property consists of 300 acres, two beautiful homes, one which looks like a rustic barn, a real barn for animals, numerous large paddocks for over 50 alpacas, goats, a beautiful white horse and 2 brown burros, plus 2 large ponds with breathtaking views. There are trails to follow around the property, cobblestone driveways, and landscaping that you expect in a park setting.

The animals are curious and friendly. You will be able to go into paddocks with them.
The farm is in Stonington, CT, very close to Mystic Aquarium, Exit 91 on the north side of I-95.

We will be shooting from 8:30 to 11:30 am followed by lunch at McQuades Marketplace which has what seems like a football field long of food ranging from sushi to fried chicken, salads to sandwiches. And several bakery counters from heaven!

In early May the alpacas are sheared for their soft fleece so they will have a slimmer look for our visit. They are also expecting the birth of some baby alpacas.

Please Note:
The utmost respect for the animals and property are top priority for us. If you want to enter the paddocks, only a few can go at a time. We don’t want to frighten or overwhelm these gentle creatures.
As a thank-you for allowing us to visit their farm, we ask each photographer to contribute 2 photos that we can give to the owners for use on their website.

This place is so peaceful and full of such good cheer that you won’t want to leave! So come join us for a day of great image making, lots of fun with friends, and delicious food.
